Loose diamonds - investment diamonds

Brilliants are the most popular diamonds.

The round brilliant shape is by far the most popular cut and is chosen by customers in over 75% of cases. Sizes that are particularly popular are carat weights between 0.5 and 2 carats.

Diamonds (like gold and silver) are a material asset whose value, unlike paper money, cannot be determined by governments or central banks. Diamonds represent an excellent protection against inflation in both high and low interest rate phases.

The diamonds we offer are certified by internationally recognized agencies and can therefore be turned into money all over the world. Top: The GIA certificate - Gemological Institute of America!

In Germany and Austria, any increase in the value of diamonds is exempt from income tax after just one year in private assets. Many investors have multiplied their wealth with diamonds in recent years.

Diamonds and the four C's

The quality of a diamond is defined by the 4 C's: carat, color, clarity and cut. These four characteristics determine the market price of your diamond.

Carat

The weight of diamonds is measured in carats, with each carat equal to 200 milligrams. One carat is therefore equal to 0.2 grams. All diamonds are weighed as soon as they arrive at the certification organization. The companies involved in this process have high-precision scales that are accurate to a fraction of 1/100,000 of a gram. This precise weight is very useful for identifying the diamond, especially because the weight of diamonds is a factor in grading and determining their value.

Color

Most diamonds have a color that ranges from white to a slight yellow tone, but this is not visible to the naked eye. However, it has been found that diamonds come in colors other than blue and red, but can also be brown, yellow, pink, purple and blue. These are called 'fancy colors'.

The color scale ranges from D (colorless) to Z (yellowish)

Clarity

All diamonds also have inclusions or impurities that characterize their growth history. The clarity scale is the size, number, location and visibility of the internal inclusions, using a 10x magnifying glass.

The clarity scale ranges from Flawless to Included (strong inclusions)

Cut

Cut is a crucial component to a diamond's beauty because regardless of value, weight and color, a poor cut makes the stone less appealing. If the cut is not good, the diamond will not respond to light as it ideally should. A diamond with good color and clarity but a poor cut will not reflect the sparkle that is characteristic of diamonds.
